I started sharing generative music in October 2021 and was introduced to the Tezos marketplace Hic et Nunc. At this point, I was capturing oscilloscope movements from generative music I was creating with Pure Data software. It was suggested that I could make endless pieces of music that could be minted as NFTs if I used code, and I was immediately obsessed with the idea and still am!
My work currently focuses on compressionist Fully On Chain (FOC) work, where I design the pieces to have a very small file size (usually 9-12kb) so the entire piece, with no dependencies, can be minted on the blockchain.
This has many challenges and has led me to totally change how I use code. I needed to do this to access FOC minting and the permanence this allows.
Another ongoing project is creating generative music for acoustic instruments in the vein of Ten Miniatures for Self-Playing Piano. This will not be minted FOC as the videos are too large. Not every project is suitable for FOC minting, but where this can happen it is really special!
My work has been played on BBC Radio several times and "8 no.1" was exhibited in Craiova, Romania. "Prelude" won a prize in the Generative Category for the Optimism "We Love the Art" competition in early 2024.
